Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Internship

  1. Purpose

To provide a structured framework for interns to carry out their internship effectively while adhering to our policies, ethical standards, and professional practices.

  1. Scope

This SOP applies to all interns working with the CHIP foundation team in different  areas such as nutrition, health, education, research, management, phycology , social media support activities.

  • Gain practical experience in different operations.
  • Support programme implementation and community outreach.
  • Develop professional, communication, and research skills.
  • Contribute to the CHIP foundation vision and mission through meaningful participation.
  1. Roles and Responsibilities

For Intern

  • Report to the assigned supervisor on time.
  • Follow organisational policies and code of conduct.
  • Participate in field visits, meetings, and programme activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary and organisational information.
  • Complete assigned tasks within the specified timeline.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and a final internship report.

For  Supervisor

  • Provide orientation and training.
  • Assign tasks and monitor intern performance.
  • Offer guidance, mentorship, and feedback.
  • Evaluate the intern at the end of the internship.
  1. Internship Procedure

Step 1: Orientation

  • Attend the induction programme.
  • Understand the CHIP foundation vision, mission, policies, and programmes.
  • Complete necessary documentation.

Step 2: Work Planning

  • Develop an internship work plan with the supervisor.
  • Define learning objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Prepare a schedule of activities.

Step 3: Programme Implementation

  • Assist in community outreach activities.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, or nutrition assessments where applicable.
  • Support awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Assist with research, documentation, and data collection.

Step 4: Documentation

  • Maintain a daily work log.
  • Record observations and field activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, or educational materials as assigned.

Step 5: Monitoring and Evaluation
